FAQ

Got Questions? We've Got Answers.

We believe there's no such thing as a silly question — especially when it comes to your care, your rights, and your future. Here are the ones we hear most.

📌 ABOUT ESWS

Q: What does "Eyecare" mean? Are you an eye health company?

Great question — and no! "Eyecare" is our way of saying "I Care." It's a wordplay that captures our core promise: we see you, we hear you, and we look after you — because we genuinely care!

Q: Is ESWS only for people with cerebral palsy?

Absolutely not. Cerebral palsy is where our deepest lived experience comes from — our founder Anita has been a carer for her son Cameron, who lives with cerebral palsy, for over 33 years. That expertise is part of our DNA. But we provide dedicated, compassionate support for every disability. No one is left behind at ESWS. Every participant receives the same passion, the same dedication, and the same fight for their rights.

Q: Who founded ESWS and why?

ESWS was founded in early 2021 by Anita Connolly — a mother who spent 33+ years as the primary carer for her son Cameron, who lives with cerebral palsy. After years of navigating the disability system as a family, working as a Support Coordinator and Support Worker, and fighting for advocacy and rights, Anita built ESWS to ensure every person with a disability receives the quality of care and respect they deserve. → Read the full story

📌 ABOUT OUR SERVICES

Q: What services do you offer?

We offer a comprehensive range of NDIS support services including daily living and personal care, community and social engagement, NDIS advocacy and plan navigation, specialized care (including respite, clinical support, and home-based eyecare), independence and life skills development, and family support.

Q: Can you help with NDIS plan reviews and funding discussions?

Yes — and this is one of our strengths. We provide expert advocacy and support through NDIS plan reviews, funding discussions, reassessments, and service coordination. We've navigated this system as a family for over three decades, and we bring that real-world knowledge to every participant we support.

Q: What if I need something that's not listed on your services page?

Talk to us! We specialize in creating customized support solutions. If you have a need, we'll find a way to help — or connect you with someone who can.

Q: Do you offer respite care?

Yes — we offer both short-term and emergency respite care, including overnight stays. We understand how important it is for families and carers to have reliable respite options.

📌 ABOUT THE MATCHING PROCESS

Q: How do you choose which support worker I get?

We don't just assign you someone from a roster. After getting to know you — your personality, your goals, your preferences, your needs — we handpick our top recommended support workers who we believe are the best fit. You then meet each of them through informal meet-and-greet sessions, and you choose who works best for you.

Q: What if my support worker isn't the right fit?

That's completely okay — and it happens. There's no pressure to stick with a match that doesn't feel right. Just tell us, and we'll work with you to find a better fit. Your comfort and trust come first, always.

Q: Can I change my support worker later?

Absolutely. Your needs, your life, and your preferences can change — and your support should change with them. We're always here to adjust.

📌 ABOUT NDIS & FUNDING

Q: Do I need an NDIS plan to use your services?

Most of our services are delivered under the NDIS framework. If you're not sure whether you're eligible or how to access funding, we can help you with that too — including NDIS access applications and plan guidance.

Q: Are you a registered NDIS provider?

We are NDIS rregistered company. We work with both agency-managed and plan-managed participants. Contact us to discuss your specific situation.

Q: Can you help me access the NDIS if I don't have a plan yet?

Yes! We can guide you through the NDIS access process, help you understand eligibility, and support you in preparing your application. You don't need to navigate this alone.

📌 ABOUT SAFETY & QUALITY

Q: How do you vet your support workers?

Safety is non-negotiable at ESWS. Every support worker goes through thorough vetting including background checks, reference checks, qualification verification, and ongoing training requirements. We also conduct continuous oversight and regular check-ins with participants and families.

Q: What does "safeguarding" mean at ESWS?

Safeguarding means we don't wait for problems to happen — we prevent them. We use proactive risk management, structured oversight, careful worker selection, and continuous monitoring to ensure every participant is safe, respected, and empowered.
